Don't Forget the Fruit!

Ending the Year with the Fruit of the Spirit

Can you believe we’re at the end of another school year? The paint-splattered smocks, wiggly circle times, and endless snack requests are winding down—but the seeds you’ve planted in your students’ hearts are just beginning to grow. As we prepare to close out the year, there’s no better time to reflect on the Fruit of the Spirit and celebrate the spiritual growth we’ve witnessed in our little learners.

"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control."

– Galatians 5:22-23 (NIV)

Each day in our classrooms is an opportunity to nurture these godly traits. Whether it was the moment a student shared a toy without being asked or offered a hug to a hurting friend, these are signs that the Holy Spirit is at work—even in the tiniest hearts.

Celebrate Spiritual Growth

To mark these milestones, consider presenting your students with Fruit of the Spirit Awards.

These beautifully designed certificates recognize each child for how they’ve shown love, joy, peace, and more throughout the year. They’re a meaningful way to affirm their character and connect classroom learning with spiritual truths.

End-of-Year Storytime Recommendation

Wrap up your year with a sweet read-aloud like Remember the Nine.

This gentle, engaging story helps preschoolers understand how the Spirit helps us become more like Jesus, using age-appropriate language and illustrations they’ll love.

Teacher Takeaway

As you reflect on this school year, take a moment to recognize the fruit in your own life, too. Your love, patience, and gentleness have been on display daily—and God sees it.

He’s using you to build foundations that last into eternity.

Let’s finish strong, planting seeds of truth and celebrating every fruit-filled moment.

Have a blessed week!
